The Residential Asbestos Removal Process

Asbestos refers to a set of six naturally-occurring minerals that were widely used in the late 1800s. Due to its durability, heat and fire resistant properties, it served as a main component in many commercial and industrial materials including shipbuilding, power plants and construction.
While asbestos has provided millions of jobs across the globe, it has also put millions of employees working with asbestos-containing materials at risk of harmful exposure to airborne asbestos fibers. When inhaled, these fibers, which are too small to be seen with the naked eye, can cause fatal disease such as asbestos, lung cancer or mesothelioma.
To give you more insight about the dangers of mesothelioma, here’s an infographic from AWARE, an asbestos disposal and demolitions company in Australia, that sheds light in the asbestos removal process in homes.
