In their recent study, stairlift retailer Handicare has worked to determine the best country in the world to live in for older people. By comparing a large range of data including the average life expectancy, health care index score, safety index score, cost of living, property prices and the pension age, they ranked 105 countries from around the world.
This infographic shows the top five countries: Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Australia. It also goes into some detail about the properties which gained the top five spots their places. With four of the five based in Europe, the results are certainly interesting and shed a light on which countries can offer over 60s a better quality of living. The UK came in 17th place in the final rankings, which is still an admirable position on such an extensive list.
The accompanying article, What is the best country to live in for older people, goes into more detail about the best-performing countries in each category, talking to people who have lived in or visited those countries to get their insight.
