Celebrities live a glamourous lifestyle, envied by many, often resulting from their fortunes generated from a job that they may have started as a hobby. As such, it is interesting to see the disparity between how much a celebrity gets paid per year in comparison to how much the average person gets paid to do the same job. Data was taken from Adzuna, of the average UK salaries per industry and compared with the gross earnings of the UK top 12 paid celebrities, given by the Telegraph. Salaries of musicians, singers, footballers and authors were among the industries compared for this study, with celebrities in the top 12 list for highest paid in the UK including the likes of J.K Rowling, Cold play and Adele. Interestingly, Adzuna found that the celebrities are earning up to 2086x that of the average person to do the same job! Additionally, despite being recognized for having some of the highest salaries in the world, Welsh footballer, Gareth Bale, earns only 571x that of a non-celebrity footballer in the UK.
