Earth Has a Trash Problem

It should come as no surprise to you that earth has a trash problem. Of all the waste we produce on earth, 75 percent of it is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30 percent. In fact, every year humans produce 2.6 trillion pounds of trash. This trash is filling landfills and polluting our oceans, but did you know that it is also ending up in space? Thats right, not only are we leaving piles of trash on earth, but we have been leaving trash in space as well. So far we have left 11 million pounds of junk in space. Also, the International Space Station produces around 15,200 pounds of trash per year. It can be hard to visualize the impact of such large amounts of garbage, but there is a way to make it easier.
