A notable example of how impactful sustainable commerce through second hand goods can be found on the eBay platform, where 720,000 metric tons of carbon emissions were saved in 2020 alone. In fact, by the year 2025, eBay is planning to create $3 billion in positive economic impact while preventing an additional 3 million metric tons of carbon emissions through the sales of pre-owned electronics and apparel.
