Sell without selling. Really. This is content marketing in its purest form: don’t sell anything, but you can help your client to sell their product or service. That’s because content marketing is about engaging your target audience with interesting, relevant stories that serve a purpose for them in their day-to-day lives. It’s about creating value for your client, then getting them to tell others about it.
The idea is that you create content that is interesting and valuable to your target audience. And because it’s valuable, they will tell others about it. This is where content marketing can be a bit tricky. You have to be careful to not try and sell directly through your content at all. If it comes off as “salesy”, then you will lose the trust of your audience, and it will all be for nothing.
