Hair removal services is one of the most frequently-availed services at laser clinics and is popular amongst people across the world. The ever-rising need and demand for these hair removal services in the past years has prompted an equally-rapid growth not only in the number of clinics and places offering these services but has also paved the way in developing different types of technology in order to achieve a common goal: remove these unwanted hairs.
There are a lot of reasons why people choose to have their body hair removed. One of the most obvious (and prevalent) reasons for the patronage of these services is cosmetic reasons – many people feel the need to maintain a hairless image for their bodies due to societal norms. They may also choose to remove body hair for aesthetic reasons. For example, a person with bleached hair would rather keep the image of having light-colored hair and would choose to remove hair showing their original color.
Some men choose to have their body hair – specifically their beard – removed for a lot of reasons: an inability to grow a “full” beard which results to a very awkward look, their beard hair color being different from their scalp hair color (again, aesthetic issues), or the hair growth is untamable which results in an unruly and ungroomed look.
Many also choose to have unwanted hair removed for comfort. Having unshaven or unremoved hair in various places can feel weird and can cause discomfort or feeling “unhygienic”. Hair strands may be coarse and cause itchiness and irritation – not to mention that many would prefer avoiding pubic lice by depriving them of a home altogether.
Athletes in particular are widely known for regularly removing body hair as well. Science has proven that performance is enhanced when there is no presence of body hair, especially with swimmers and cyclists. Aside from this, they also aim to avoid the chances of infecting wounds gotten from crashes (in the case of cyclists) as there is no body hair where grit and other foreign substances can hang on to while the wounds heal.
There are lots of ways, too, on removing unwanted hair from the body. Some of the most common methods include shaving, waxing, depilatories, and electrolysis – technology has continuously strived to look for ways to make this agenda more permanent and less expensive, time-consuming, and painful.
Among the wide variety of methods available, there is one that stands out due to its promised benefits to customers: light-based hair reduction in the form of Laser or IPL hair removal.
