Each sport is different, and each comes with its own unique set of risks and injuries. However, there are two main ways you can get injured from playing a sport – through a traumatic incident, such as falling or colliding with another player, or overuse, such as swinging a golf club too many times.
In this infographic, we detail the most common injuries for each sport, along with handy prevention tips. Although it’s impossible to completely protect yourself from harm or injury, especially when participating in contact sports, you can still reduce your risk by practicing proper form, stretching beforehand, and wearing protective gear.
If you do get injured, make sure to visit an experienced orthopedic physician. Some injuries, such as concussions, may seem harmless but in reality require immediate attention.
