The Rise of Mobile Shopping

Traditional retailers are on the decline. With increased competition from online stores, and less people frequenting the high street to make purchases, big brands are facing a crisis. In the place of this traditional way of shopping, E-commerce and M-commerce have becoming the new normal, with more and more people using mobile payments to get what they need.
As part of their on-going research project that looks at the way in which smartphones are changing the way we live, UK insurance brand loveit coverit surveyed 1,000 UK consumers to see the impact that mobile is having on shopping habits. This infographic explores the data, looking at consumers’ preferred payment methods – specifically, how mobile payments are increase – as well as how much is spent, on average, via mobile. Furthermore, the infographic explore what people use mobile payments to purchase, with food and drink, and transport being some of the most frequent.
