Are you aware of your company’s diversity policies? Are you satisfied with the working environment at your office? Chances are your company is not as diverse as you would like to think.
These days a lot of big corporations are putting more emphasis on workplace diversity and are even setting specific goals under the pressure of current societal movements. However, we can see from the numbers in the infographic below that there is much more work to be done.
The infographic reveals the current situation in the UK. We can see that women and men are equally ambitious. But women are much more pessimistic when it comes to expectations about salary and career opportunities, which can hold them back from pursuing their dreams.
Black and minority ethnicities are also underrepresented in the British workplace, with only 6% of BME individuals holding top management positions. We should all ask ourselves: “How does my company compare to these numbers?”
